Whitby erases deficit to stun Stouffville, 4-3Campus Ice Centre 1 Sun, May 31, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
Whitby climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat Stouffville, 4-3. Whitby never led in the game until netting the game winner. Whitby was down 3-1 after a goal by Stouffville's Tyler Davis at 12:40 in the second period. Whitby tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Jake Durham at 9:00 in the third period. Whitby netted the game winner at 13:15 in the third period on a goal by Durham. Whitby got the win on the strength of a great game by Shane Bull, who had one goal and two assists. Whitby stifled Stouffville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Whitby additionally got points from Nick Sirizzotti, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Liam McCrory also scored for Whitby. In addition, Whitby received assists from Graeme McCrory and Patrick Demaio, who each chipped in one. Stouffville put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Whitby to score on any of its five power plays. Others who scored for Stouffville included Thomas Hernandez and Adrian Addante, who each put in one. More assists for Stouffville came via Brendan MacKenzie and Vaughn McCusker, who contributed one each. Whitby incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Stouffville incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
