Caledonia wins tough contest against LaSalle, 4-3

The Caledonia Corvairs and the LaSalle Vipers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Caledonia made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Tyler Lepore's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The win by the Corvairs clinched the best of seven series at 4-2.

In the losing effort, LaSalle was paced by Nathan Veres, who racked up two goals. Veres scored the first of his two goals at 5:24 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Korey Morgan provided the assist. Veres' next tally made the score 2-1 LaSalle with 38 seconds left in the first period. Mark Manchurek assisted on the tally.

Caledonia was led by Lepore, who registered one goal. Lepore scored 8:14 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Caledonia. Erick Delaurentis picked up the assist.

Caledonia additionally got points from Jordan Peacock, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Caledonia included Kyle Tanev and Cosimo Fontana, who each put in one. More assists for Caledonia came via Luke Sinclair, Nathan Gomes, and Todd Ratchford, who contributed one each.

The Vipers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. LaSalle kept the Corvairs' goalie busy throughout the game, and Marc Sinclair made 28 saves on 31 shots.

LaSalle also got a goal from Brendan Harrogate as well. Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Manny Silverio, who had one.

Caledonia incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Paolo Battisti made 25 saves for the Vipers on 29 shots. LaSalle incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
