Caledonia survives LaSalle comeback, wins 3-2Haldimand Center Sun, Apr 26, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The LaSalle Vipers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Caledonia Corvairs would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. A goal by Cosimo Fontana put Caledonia up 3-0 in the second period, but LaSalle pulled to within one on Daniel Beaudoin's tally 15:57 into the third period. The win by the Corvairs broke a deadlock and gave Caledonia a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series. The Corvairs were helped by Matthew Hore, who racked up one goal and one assist. Hore scored 4:06 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. Jordan Peacock assisted on the tally. Caledonia additionally got points from Erick Delaurentis, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Caledonia came via Ryan Blunt, Tyler Lepore, and Austin McEneny, who contributed one each. Caledonia was unable to stop the Vipers from sending pucks towards the net, and LaSalle eventually piled up 39 shots on goal. Chris Pignanelli also scored for LaSalle. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Nathan Savage, Nathan Veres, and Brett Primeau, who each chipped in one. The Corvairs' Kevin Entmaa stopped 37 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Caledonia incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Paolo Battisti rejected 22 shots on goal for the Vipers. LaSalle incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
