LaSalle uses early goal to top Caledonia, 4-2

Daniel Beaudoin scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the LaSalle Vipers held off the challenges of the Caledonia Corvairs in a tough 4-2 win.

Beaudoin provided LaSalle with the game-winning tally when he scored 4:58 into the first period. The Vipers earned a power play opportunity when Jayme Forslund was put in the box for tripping. Brendan Harrogate picked up the assist.

The win gave LaSalle a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

The Vipers were sparked by Eric Kirby, who tallied one goal. Kirby scored 2:22 into the third period to make the score 3-1 LaSalle. Nikko Sablone assisted on the tally.

LaSalle excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Vipers' offense rang up 31 shots on Caledonia's net.

LaSalle also got points from Beaudoin, who also registered one goal and one assist and Harrogate, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Korey Morgan also scored for LaSalle. Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Brett Langlois, Nathan Savage, and Nathan Veres, who each chipped in one.

The Corvairs were helped by Nathan Gomes, who had one goal. Gomes scored 3:36 into the third period to make the score 3-2 LaSalle. Cosimo Fontana picked up the assist. Caledonia also got a goal from Erick Delaurentis as well. More assists for Caledonia came via Luke Sinclair, Ryan Blunt, and Matthew Hore, who contributed one each.

LaSalle's Paolo Battisti stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Vipers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Kevin Entmaa made 27 saves for Caledonia on 30 shots. The Corvairs incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
