Kingston downs Trenton in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Alex Stothart gave the Kingston Voyageurs a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Trenton Golden Hawks when he scored 17:25 into the extra period.

After the loss made the series score 3-2 in the best of seven series, Trenton faces elimination next time out.

Kingston overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Voyageurs was down 3-1 after a goal by the Golden Hawks' Blayne Oliver at 40 seconds in the third period. Kingston tied things up at 3-3 on a goal by Alex Tonge at 10:20 in the third period.

Tonge was all over the ice for the Voyageurs, as he racked up two goals in the win.

Kingston forced Trenton goalie Justin Kapelmaster to work between the pipes, taking 51 shots.

Kingston also got a goal from Zachary Emelifeonwu as well. More assists for Kingston came via Spencer Green, who had two and Joey Beaudoin, Adam Moodie, Jaylon Gorman, and Rory McGuire, who contributed one each.

The Golden Hawks stifled the Voyageurs' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Trenton kept Kingston's goalie busy throughout the game, and Daniel Urbani made 57 saves on 60 shots.

The Golden Hawks were helped by Brady Wiffen, who had one goal. Wiffen scored on the power play 14:44 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Trenton. Trenton had gotten the advantage when the Voyageurs' Joey Rutkowski was sent off for interference. Chrisitian Lloyd provided the assist. Danny Liscio also scored for Trenton. Other players who recorded assists for Trenton were Braden Hellems, who had one and Zach de Concilys, who had three.

Kingston incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Justin Kapelmaster made 47 saves for the Golden Hawks on 51 shots. Trenton incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Golden Hawks, Loren Ulett was ejected from the game.
