Pembroke downs Ottawa in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

Anthony Nellis gave the Pembroke Lumber Kings a 4-3 (OT) victory over the Ottawa Senators when he scored 3:42 into the extra period.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Ottawa faces elimination next time out.

Pembroke came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Lumber Kings trailed 3-1 after a power play goal by the Senators' Joey Champigny at 5:46 in the second period. Pembroke knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Adam Beveridge at 14:03 in the third period.

Nellis had one goal and three assists to lead the Lumber Kings.

Ottawa was unable to stop Pembroke from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lumber Kings eventually piled up 37 shots on goal. Pembroke struggled on the penalty kill, allowing the Senators to score three power play goals on four chances.

Pembroke additionally got points from Felix Chamberland, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Stephan Beauvais also scored for Pembroke. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Alexandre Boivin, who had three.

Others who scored for Ottawa included Robert Michel and Bruno Cheff, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Shawn Lynch and Carl Faucher, who contributed two each.

The Lumber Kings' Jordan Piccolino stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Pembroke incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Ian Andriano made 33 saves for Ottawa on 37 shots. The Senators incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
