LaSalle downs Leamington in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The LaSalle Vipers pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Leamington Flyers on a clutch goal by Brett Langlois.

The win moved LaSalle to down 2-1 in the best of seven series.

The Vipers were led by Langlois, who racked up one goal and one assist. Langlois scored 9:10 into overtime to make the score 3-2 LaSalle. Nathan Savage picked up the assist.

LaSalle excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Vipers kept Leamington's goalie busy throughout the game, and Trevor Wheaton made 49 saves on 52 shots. The defensemen of LaSalle were also effective in the Flyers' zone, and came away with two goals.

LaSalle also had goals scored by Korey Morgan and Dalton Langlois, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for LaSalle were Nathan Veres, Daniel Beaudoin, Connor Rosaasen, and Brett Primeau, who contributed one each.

Leamington put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Vipers to score on any of their five power plays. The Flyers forced LaSalle goalie Paolo Battisti to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots.

Leamington was helped by Alex Friesen, who registered one goal. Friesen scored 9:08 into the second period to make the score 2-1 LaSalle. Mitchell Amante assisted on the tally. Leamington also got a goal from Colin Moore as well. In addition, Leamington received assists from Cale Allen and Zack Guilbeault, who each chipped in one.

Battisti rejected 42 shots on goal for the Vipers. LaSalle incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Flyers incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
