St. Catharines falls to Caledonia in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Tyler Lepore gave the Caledonia Corvairs a 3-2 (OT) victory over the St. Catharines Falcons when he scored 7:58 into the extra period.

The win by Caledonia clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Corvairs overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Caledonia was down 2-0 after a goal by St. Catharines' Devon Rymarchuk at 11:17 in the first period. The Corvairs tied things up at 2-2 on a power play goal by Lepore at 54 seconds in the third period.

Lepore had a great game for Caledonia, netting two goals.

The Corvairs forced the Falcons goalie Jonathan D Ilario to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. Caledonia did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with a minimal one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Caledonia also got a goal from Cosimo Fontana as well. More assists for Caledonia came via Luke Sinclair, Connor Bramwell, Erick Delaurentis, Matthew Hore, Anton Trublin, and Todd Ratchford, who each chipped in one.

Patrick MacDonald also scored for St. Catharines. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Cam Blakely and Paolo De Sousa, who contributed one each.

Marc Sinclair made 26 saves for the Corvairs on 28 shots. Caledonia registered one goal on five power play opportunities. D Ilario recorded 45 saves for St. Catharines. The Falcons incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with two minors. For St. Catharines, Blakely was ejected from the game.
