Huge game by Berisha boosts Dundas over Brantford, 6-3

The Dundas Real McCoys' Beni Berisha had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 6-3 win over the Brantford Blast.

Berisha scored on the power play at 5:51 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Brantford and again while 11:13 into the third to make the score 4-3 Dundas.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Brantford faces elimination next time out.

Dundas pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 24 penalty minutes.

The Real McCoys forced the Blast goalie Brett Leggat to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

Others who scored for Dundas included Cam Watson, who had two and Simon Mangos and Brad Bonello, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Dundas were Shawn Snider, who had three and Ryan Moore, Jeff White, Dan Lapointe, and Chris McGuffin, who contributed one each.

Brantford was helped by Dustin Alcock, who tallied one goal. Alcock scored on the power play 11:19 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brantford. The Blast had taken the advantage when Dundas' Jordan Foreman got sent off for hooking. Joel Prpic provided the assist. Brantford additionally got points from Chris Rebernik, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Cam Sault, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Brantford received assists from Derek Medeiros and Chris Leveille, who each chipped in one.

The Real McCoys' Mike Mole stopped 25 shots out of the 28 that he faced. Dundas registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Brett Leggat made 30 saves for Brantford on 36 shots. The Blast incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. For Brantford, Mike Burgoyne was ejected from the game.
