Nashville downs Metro in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Fox Valley NHL Rink Thu, Mar 19, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Nashville Jr. Predators pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Metro Jets on a clutch goal by Jon Severson. The win gave Nashville a 1-0 lead in the best of one series. The Jr. Predators were led by Severson, who racked up one goal. Severson scored 8:04 into to make the score 3-2 Nashville. Spencer Marchand assisted on the tally. Nashville forced Metro goalie Jake Stephan to work between the pipes, taking 47 shots. Nashville also had goals scored by Colton Anderson and Nick Mammel, who each put in one. More assists for Nashville came via Matiss Gelazis, Ben Falk, Nickolas Tandeski, and Jacob Lainesse, who contributed one each. The Jets' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on five Nashville power plays. Metro was helped by Ryan Bloom, who finished with one goal. Bloom scored on the power play 1:13 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Metro. Jacob Drinkard provided the assist. Metro also got a goal from Cooper McLean as well. Other players who recorded assists for Metro were Pearce Vance, Cody Jones, and Jake Sealy, who each chipped in one. The Jr. Predators' Nathan Klebe stopped 28 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Nashville incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Jr. Predators, Jon Evans was ejected from the game. Jake Stephan made 44 saves for the Jets on 47 shots. Metro incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
