Carl Faucher grabbed one point to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 9-2 victory over the Gloucester Rangers. The win gave Ottawa a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Senators forced Rangers' goaltenders to work all game long, getting 44 shots and forcing 35 saves. David Richer made 27 stops and Doug Johnston made eight. Ottawa additionally got points from Connor Bebb, who also finished with one goal and two assists, Derek Varrin, who also registered one goal and one assist, Daniel Sarracco, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Bruno Cheff, who also had one goal and two assists, Joey Champigny, who also racked up one goal and one assist, and Jim Pearson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Ottawa also had goals scored by Sean Rappleyea and Zach Car, who scored one goal each. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Isaac Anderson, who had two, Geoffrey Lawson, who had three, and Shawn Lynch, Charles Corriveau, Johnathan Kovacevic, Thomas Crevier, and Brandon Watt, who contributed one each. Gloucester was helped by Jared Leslie, who tallied one goal. Leslie scored on the power play 11:56 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Gloucester. A slashing penalty on Kovacevic had put the Rangers on the power play. Zachary Borsoi provided the assist. Matt Adams also scored for Gloucester. More assists for Gloucester came via Joey Fallon and Jaren Burke, who each chipped in one. Alexandre Savard-Belanger made 17 saves for Ottawa on 19 shots. The Senators incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Gloucester incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
