Caledonia rolls over Ancaster, 3-0Morgan Firestone Sat, Mar 14, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Caledonia Corvairs were firing on all cylinders against the Ancaster Avalanche, and when the final buzzer sounded Corvairs emerged with a 3-0 win. The win gave Caledonia a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Corvairs' penalty kill excelled, as Caledonia gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. The Corvairs were led by Tyler Lepore, who had one goal and one assist. Lepore scored on the power play 5:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia. Caledonia had gotten the advantage when Ancaster's Adam Burnett was sent off for interference. Erick Delaurentis assisted on the tally. The Corvairs stifled the Avalanche's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Caledonia kept Ancaster's goalie busy throughout the game, and Blake Richard made 29 saves on 32 shots. Caledonia additionally got points from Delaurentis, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Matthew Hore, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Caledonia were Kyle Tanev and Ryan Blunt, who each chipped in one. The Corvairs' Kevin Entmaa stopped 24 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Caledonia incurred 28 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. The Corvairs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Austin McEneny was ejected from the game. The Avalanche incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. |
