Behind a great game by Manny Manns, who had one goal and three assists, the St. Catharines Falcons defeated the Welland Jr. Canadians, 8-1. Manns scored 11:51 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Catharines. Brett Brooker picked up the assist. Manns dished an assist on Tyler Morrison's goal that made the score 1-0 St. Catharines at 38 seconds into the first period. He then added assists on Connor Timmins's goal at 2:53 into the second and on Ryan Doucette's goal at 17:06 into the third.After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Welland faces elimination next time out. St. Catharines was led by goalie Ben Csiernik, who finished with 25 saves while allowing one goal. Csiernik certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.6 entering the contest. The Falcons forced Jr. Canadians' goalies to work in net, launching 40 shots and forcing 32 saves. Chris Janzen made 12 stops and Brandon McCorriston made 20. St. Catharines got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. St. Catharines also got points from Morrison, who also racked up two goals and two assists, Patrick MacDonald, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Doucette, who also had one goal and two assists. Others who scored for St. Catharines included Jacob Parisotto and Brandon Cercone, who each put in one. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Paolo De Sousa, who had two and Broderick Kelly, Tyler Jackson, Owen Peacock, and Bradley Lee APM, who contributed one each. The Falcons incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Jr. Canadians incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
