London downs Leamington in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Tanner Ferreira gave the London Nationals a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Leamington Flyers when he scored 3:27 into the extra period.

The win gave London a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Leamington could not complete its climb out of a two-goal hole. The Nationals made it 2-0 on a goal by Ethan Cocurullo at 4:19 in the second period. The Flyers got to within 2-1 on a goal by Cale Allen at 7:56 in the third period.

London was paced by Ferreira, who finished with one goal.

Leamington was unable to stop the Nationals from sending pucks towards the net, and London eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

London also got a goal from Rai Di Loreto as well. More assists for London came via Derek Di Iorio, Anthony Kotsovos, Trevor Dulong, and Colin Wilson, who contributed one each.

The Flyers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Nationals to score on any of their three power plays. Leamington kept London's goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Tugwell made 70 saves on 72 shots.

Tyler Duarte also scored for Leamington. In addition, Leamington received assists from Zack Guilbeault, who had one.

The Nationals incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Michael Barrett recorded 31 saves for the Flyers. Leamington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
