The Hawkesbury Hawks gutted out a close 4-3 win against the Cornwall Colts. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Rory Gagnon secured the win for Hawkesbury with a goal in the third period. With the win, the Hawks evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown. Hawkesbury's penalty kill excelled, as the Hawks gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays. Hawkesbury was led by Gagnon, who had one goal. Gagnon scored 18:10 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Hawkesbury. Hunter Racine assisted on the tally. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 16:15 into the second period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. Cornwall was unable to stop the Hawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Hawkesbury eventually piled up 32 shots on goal. Hawkesbury additionally got points from Racine, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Hawkesbury included Jason Brochu and CJ Stubbs, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Reid Murphy, who had three and Damien Charette, Pierre Ouellette, and Brandon Barillaro, who contributed one each. The Colts kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Gunner Rivers made 31 saves on 34 shots. Cornwall was helped by Peter Angelopoulos, who tallied one goal. Angelopoulos scored 16:44 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cornwall. Zac Tierney picked up the assist. Cornwall also had goals scored by Grant Cooper and Marly Quince, who each put in one. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Cameron Roth, who had two and Ross Craig, Parker Krol, and Kevin Hope, who each chipped in one. Hawkesbury totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. The Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and David Cyr was ejected from the game. Brett Nichol made 28 saves for the Colts on 32 shots. Cornwall ended with 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major. For the Colts, Dean Derouchie was ejected from the game.
