Pembroke beats Brockville 7-4 as Nellis gets hat trick

A hat trick by Anthony Nellis was the highlight in Lumber Kings' 7-4 win against the Brockville Braves.

Nellis got on the scoresheet 5:08 into the second period. He then added goals at 19:01 into the second and at 3:50 into the third.

The win by the Pembroke Lumber Kings broke a deadlock and gave Pembroke a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series.

The Lumber Kings' offense rang up 47 shots on Brockville's net.

Pembroke additionally got points from Felix Chamberland, who also tallied one goal and three assists and Alexandre Boivin, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Pembroke included Owen McDade and Stephen Cooney, who each put in one. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Adam Dauda, who had two and Colton Keuhl, Fraser Turner, Hudson Michaelis, Stephan Beauvais, and Adam Beveridge, who contributed one each.

Pembroke was unable to stop the Braves from sending pucks towards the net, and Brockville eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

The Braves were helped by Andrew Peski, who had one goal. Peski scored on the power play 7:05 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Pembroke. Brockville had gained a power play chance when Beveridge was whistled for slashing. Owen Gill assisted on the tally. Brockville also got points from Gill, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Liam Folkes, who also registered one goal and one assist. Jack Billings also scored for Brockville. More assists for Brockville came via Sean King, who had one and Eric Israel and Neil Robinson, who contributed two each.

Jordan Piccolino rejected 29 shots on goal for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. The Lumber Kings ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and McDade was ejected from the game. The Braves' Bo Taylor stopped 40 shots out of the 46 that he faced. Brockville totaled 25 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors and one major and went 2-for-7 on the power play. For the Braves, Francesco Tolfa was ejected from the game.
