Chad Malinowski gave the Nepean Raiders a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Smiths Falls Bears when he scored 5:34 into the extra period. After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Smiths Falls faces elimination next time out. Nepean was led by goalie Francis Marotte, who finished with 28 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Marotte will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 0.92 entering the contest. The Raiders were led by Malinowski, who finished with one goal. Nepean excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Raiders forced the Bears goalie Michael Pinios to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Nepean also got a goal from Luke McCaw as well. More assists for Nepean came via Corey Tam and Jody Sullivan, who contributed one each. Smiths Falls put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Nepean to score on any of its three power plays. The Bears were led by Taylor Henry, who scored the team's only goal. Henry scored 8:58 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Chris King picked up the assist.
