The Essex 73s tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Amherstburg Admirals held on for a 2-1 victory. Amherstburg made the score 2-0 on a goal by Mark Sobocan at 10:54 in the second period, and Essex got as close as 2-1 when Alex Derksen scored 7:34 into the third period. With the win, the Admirals evened the series at 2-2 in the best of seven showdown. Amherstburg's Arren Romeril was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 40 saves and let only one puck past him. Romeril certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.98 entering the contest. The Admirals were led by Sobocan, who had one goal and one assist. Amherstburg stifled the 73s' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Amherstburg also got a goal from James Brooks as well. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstburg were Curtis Prymack, Mark Gangnon, and Dean Patterson, who contributed one each. Essex's offense rang up 41 shots on the Admirals' net. In addition, Essex received assists from Tyler Scott, who had one. Amherstburg incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Noah Hedrick recorded 25 saves for the 73s. Essex incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
