Nashville downs Point Mallard, 3-1

Jacob Lainesse registered one point to lead the Nashville Jr. Predators to a 3-1 victory over the Point Mallard Ducks.

The win by Nashville clinched the best of three series at 2-1.

The Jr. Predators' offense rang up 45 shots on Point Mallard's net.

Nashville additionally got points from Topi Samuli Aheristo, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Jon Severson also scored for Nashville. Other players who recorded assists for Nashville were Jon Evans, who had one and Spencer Marchand, who had two.

The Ducks put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Nashville to score on any of its four power plays. Point Mallard found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 13 shots against the Jr. Predators' defense.

The Ducks were led by Jake Cox, who scored the team's only goal. Cox scored 4:05 into the third period to make the score 1-1.

Justin Ball rejected 12 shots on goal for Nashville. The Jr. Predators incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Cooper Seedott recorded 42 saves for Point Mallard. The Ducks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
