Pode's hat trick boosts Motor City Monarchs over Detroit Fighting Irish, 5-4

Trevor Pode netted a hat trick to lead Motor City Monarchs over Detroit Fighting Irish, 5-4.

Pode's first goal came 6:15 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:18 into the first and at 9:53 into the third.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Detroit Fighting Irish faces elimination next time out.

Motor City Monarchs forced Detroit Fighting Irish goalie Kory Dombrowski to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Others who scored for Motor City Monarchs included Anthony Wojciechowski and Joseph Gibbs, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Motor City Monarchs were Trevor Hillman, who had two and Alec Domin, Alex Anderson, Jarrad Vroman, and Adam Jonak, who each chipped in one.

The defensemen of Detroit Fighting Irish were also effective in Motor City Monarchs' zone, and came away with two goals.
