Ayr's Diamond deadly on offense in 8-1 win against Norwich

Quinn Diamond had two goals to lead the Ayr Centennials to an 8-1 victory over the Norwich Merchants.Diamond's tallies came at 1:54 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Ayr and 2:37 into the first to make the score 2-0 Ayr.
The win by Ayr clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.
The Centennials' Will Rawski was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 26 saves and let only one puck past him. The solid play of Rawski will be reflected in his goals against average, which pre-game was 1.67.
Ayr forced Norwich's netminders to work all game long, racking up 43 shots and forcing 35 saves. Patrick Maziarz made zero stops and Jesse Schoeman made 35. The Centennials had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on 13 chances.
Ayr also got points from Riley Clipper, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Carver Ormiston, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Jeff Howlett, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Ayr included Jackson White, Austin Kovrig, and Eric Hackborn, who scored one goal each. More assists for Ayr came via Connor MacLean and Felix Lantaigne, who contributed one each.
Norwich also got a goal from Jesse Szabo as well.
Ayr incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Merchants incurred 40 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Norwich ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Darcey Butler was ejected from the game.
