The Guelph Hurricanes tried their best to erase a two-goal deficit, but the Waterloo Siskins would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-2. Waterloo made the score 3-1 on a goal by Eric Cimino at 3:04 in the third period, and Guelph got as close as 3-2 when Ryan Migliaccio scored 4:05 into the third period. The win gave the Siskins a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. Waterloo got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Waterloo also had goals scored by Nick Hirst and Kyle Betts, who each put in one. More assists for Waterloo came via Evan Kearns, Christian Mroczkowski, Brennan Blaszczak, Chase Campbell, and Matt Romund, who each chipped in one. The Hurricanes put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Siskins to score on any of their four power plays. Guelph's offense rang up 32 shots on Waterloo's net. Evgeny Kiselev recorded 30 saves for the Siskins. Waterloo incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jason DaSilva made 23 saves for the Hurricanes on 26 shots. Guelph incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
