Kitchener blows out Listowel, 6-2

The Listowel Cyclones had trouble finding ways to stop the Kitchener Dutchmen, which beat Cyclones, 6-2.

The win by Kitchener clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

Adam Kawalec had two goals and two assists to lead the Dutchmen. Kawalec scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:33 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kitchener. Kitchener had gotten the advantage when Listowel's Caleb Warren was sent off for high sticking. Kyle Ellis provided the assist. Kawalec's next tally on the power play made the score 4-0 Kitchener with 11:11 left in the second period. Ellis assisted on the tally.

The Dutchmen pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 26 penalty minutes.

The Cyclones were unable to stop Kitchener from sending pucks towards the net, and the Dutchmen eventually piled up 37 shots on goal.

Kitchener also got points from Nic Hague, who also finished with one goal and three assists and Connor Cole, who also registered two goals and one assist. Philip Moser also scored for Kitchener. In addition, Kitchener received assists from Harrison Domagala, who had one and Keegan Calder, who had two.

Jackson McIntosh made 25 saves for Kitchener on 27 shots. The Dutchmen registered three goals on two power play opportunities. Listowel's Ryan Hergott stopped 31 shots out of the 36 that he faced. The Cyclones totaled nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. Listowel ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Blake Nichol was ejected from the game.
