The St. Thomas Stars tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Sarnia Legionnaires held on for a 5-4 victory. Sarnia made the score 5-3 on a goal by Davis Boyer at 7:48 in the third period, and St. Thomas got as close as 5-4 when Josh Houston scored 10:15 into the third period. The win by the Legionnaires clinched the best of seven series at 4-2. Sarnia's penalty kill excelled, as the Legionnaires gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Sarnia forced Stars' goalies to work without much rest, racking up 40 shots and forcing 35 saves. Nikolas Dampier made 23 stops and Brendan Polasek made 12. Sarnia also had goals scored by Ryan Vendramin, Jay Clarke, Riley Babkirk, and Cameron Clarke, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Sarnia were Cody Trowell, Jordan Fogarty, Hunter Tyczynski, and Ryan Trottier, who contributed one each. The Stars were helped by Andrew Chambers, who had one goal. Chambers scored on the power play 8:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Thomas. St. Thomas had gotten the advantage when the Legionnaires' Trowell was sent off for slashing. Carter McCormick picked up the assist. Others who scored for St. Thomas included Matt McJannet and Brett Van Dusen, who scored one goal each. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Dane Johnstone, Jay Dekker, Jesse Anderson, and Jordan Babb, who each chipped in one. Andrew Masters rejected 24 shots on goal for Sarnia. The Legionnaires incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Stars incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
