CAMBRIDGE hangs on, beats ETOBICOKE 2-0

CAMBRIDGE beat ETOBICOKE, 2-0, in a contest where the winning goal was scored in the first period but the game remained close throughout.

CAMBRIDGE took over the lead for good with a goal by Rachel Holden at 7:18 in the first period. Rebecca Haddaway (A) picked up the assist.

The win by CAMBRIDGE clinched the best of five series at 3-2.

CAMBRIDGE was sparked by Holden, who racked up one goal and one assist.

CAMBRIDGE's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three ETOBICOKE power plays.

CAMBRIDGE also got a goal from Shannon Pearson as well. Other players who recorded assists for CAMBRIDGE were Miranda Lantz (A) and Rachael Irvine, who contributed one each.

ETOBICOKE excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. ETOBICOKE did not challenge the opposing netminder, only getting 13 shots on net to force 13 saves.

Julia Vandyk recorded 13 saves for CAMBRIDGE. CAMBRIDGE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Christie Honor made 27 saves for ETOBICOKE on 29 shots. ETOBICOKE incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
