The Welland Jr. Canadians relied on the sparkling performance of Chris Janzen in net to grab a 2-1 win against the Fort Erie Meteors. The win by Welland clinched the best of seven series at 4-1. The Jr. Canadians' penalty kill excelled, as Welland gave up one goal despite allowing seven power plays. The Jr. Canadians were led by Brayden Stortz, who tallied one goal. Stortz scored 4:49 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Welland. Jack Fitzgerald picked up the assist. Welland also got a goal from Kris Melna as well. Other players who recorded assists for Welland were Matt Cuglietta, who had one. Fort Erie's offense rang up 33 shots on Welland's net. The Meteors were led by Dakota Miskolczi, who scored the team's only goal. Miskolczi scored on the power play 11:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Fort Erie had gained a power play chance when Cameron Aitken was whistled for hooking. Anthony Passero assisted on the tally. Janzen rejected 32 shots on goal for the Jr. Canadians. Welland incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Liam Conway recorded 26 saves for the Meteors. Fort Erie incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
