Buch's hat trick boosts Caledonia over Pelham, 12-1

Jacob Buch lifted the Caledonia Corvairs to a 12-1 victory with a hat trick against the Pelham Panthers.

Buch notched his first tally 13:39 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:44 into the first and at 18:04 into the second.

The win by Caledonia clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.

The Corvairs led 5-0 after the opening frame the first period and maintained a healthy margin after.

Caledonia excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Corvairs forced Pelham goalie Tynan Lauziere to work between the pipes, taking 74 shots.

Caledonia also got points from Luke Sinclair, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Kyle Tanev, who also had one goal and one assist, Erick Delaurentis, who also registered one goal and three assists, Ryan Blunt, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Cosimo Fontana, who also grabbed one goal and two assists, and Matthew Hore, who also finished with three goals and one assist. Jordan Peacock also scored for Caledonia. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Justin Abraham, who had two, Ryan Moran, Nathan Gomes, and Mitch Purdie, who each chipped in one, and Riley Vanhorne and Austin McEneny, who contributed three each.

The Panthers stifled Caledonia's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Marc Sinclair recorded 15 saves for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Pelham's Lauziere stopped 62 shots out of the 74 that he faced. The Panthers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Pelham ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Riley Hollowell was ejected from the game.
