Grand Valley State University falls to Michigan University of in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

Jessica Buckley gave the Michigan University of Wolverines a 3-2 (OT) victory over the Grand Valley State University Lakers when he scored 3:12 into the extra period.

Michigan University of overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Wolverines was down 2-0 after a goal by Grand Valley State University's Katie Danto at 5:16 in the second period. Michigan University of tied things up at 2-2 on a goal by Jane Dow at 17:00 in the second period.

The Wolverines were led by Buckley, who tallied one goal.

Michigan University of excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Wolverines' offense rang up 51 shots on the Lakers' net.

Michigan University of also got points from Jennifer Cusmano, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Michigan University of were Erin Gregoire and Eleanor Chalifoux, who each chipped in one.

Grand Valley State University stifled Michigan University of's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lakers kept the Wolverines' goalie busy throughout the game, and Kelsey Duggan made 41 saves on 43 shots.

Grand Valley State University was helped by Stacey Mathieu, who finished with one goal. Mathieu scored 19:58 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Grand Valley State University.

Michigan University of incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Lauren Allen made 48 saves for the Lakers on 51 shots. Grand Valley State University incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
