The Minnesota University of Golden Gophers gutted out a close 4-2 win against the Wisconsin University of Badgers.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Madison Ellis's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

Minnesota University of got the win on the strength of a great game by Melissa Drown, who had two goals and one assist. Drown scored the first of his two goals at 53 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Minnesota University of. Amanda Parranto assisted on the tally. Drown's next tally made the score 4-2 Minnesota University of with 6:56 left in the third period. Cecilia Hardacker picked up the assist.
