Fischer nets hat trick, leads Maine to 4-1 win over New Hampshire

Noel Fischer netted a hat trick to lead Maine over New Hampshire, 4-1.

Fischer's first goal came 13:40 into the third period. He then added goals at 15:59 into the third and at 19:14 into the third.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, New Hampshire faces elimination next time out.

Maine was led by goalie Lucas Osborne, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Despite the solid performance, Osborne will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.0 entering the contest.

Maine's offense rang up 33 shots on New Hampshire's net.

Matt Jerome also scored for Maine. More assists for Maine came via Matt Henderson, who had two and Ben Henderson, Zach Gagne, and Drew Sommerhof, who contributed one each.

New Hampshire was led by Brett Bittner, who scored the team's only goal. Bittner scored on the power play 7:17 into the first period to make the score 1-0 New Hampshire. A hooking penalty on Ryder Parkhurst had put New Hampshire on the power play. Alex Peddle assisted on the tally.

Maine incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Claes Endre made 29 saves for New Hampshire on 33 shots. New Hampshire incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
