Roc City beats Jersey Shore 3-1 after comeback scare

Roc City survived a determined comeback attempt by Jersey Shore on the way to a 3-1 win.

A goal by Brian Wade put Roc City up 3-0 in the first period, but Jersey Shore pulled to within two on Arthur Raevsky's tally 2:43 into the third period.

With the win, Roc City avoided elimination to make the series score 1-1 in the best of three series.

Roc City's Justin Nevinger was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 47 saves and let only one puck past him. Nevinger certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 3.5 entering the contest.

Roc City excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Roc City was helped by John Papas, who tallied one goal. Papas scored 14:50 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Roc City. Sam Cammilleri picked up the assist. Roc City additionally got points from Wade, who also had one goal and one assist and Connor Guay, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Roc City were James Lockamyeir, who had one and Bryan Smith, who had two.

Jersey Shore's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Roc City power plays. Roc City was unable to stop Jersey Shore from sending pucks towards the net, and Jersey Shore eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

More assists for Jersey Shore came via William Villeneuve, who had one.

Roc City incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jersey Shore's Tyger Howat stopped 19 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Jersey Shore incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
