New England almost clawed its way back from a four-goal deficit, but Cape Cod managed to pull out a 6-4 win in the end. Cape Cod led by four goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when Cape Cod's Jean Sebastien Dufort scored at 6:09 in the second period to put Cape Cod up 5-1. After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, New England faces elimination next time out. Chris Harris had one goal and two assists to lead Cape Cod. Harris scored 18:43 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Isaac Bosse picked up the assist. Cape Cod put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow New England to score on any of its three power plays. Cape Cod got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Cape Cod also had goals scored by JC Moritz, Frank Oakley, Andrey Stankevich, and Charles Antoine Malenfant, who scored one goal each. In addition, Cape Cod received assists from James Brosnan, Colton Hutton, Christian Holmes, and Colton Hart, who contributed one each. New England was helped by Henrik Nilsson, who racked up one goal. Nilsson scored 10:45 into the third period to make the score 6-4 Cape Cod. Ryan Gauvin assisted on the tally. New England also got points from Jake Latham, who also registered one goal and one assist and Steve Crocker, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Rick Marvin also scored for New England. More assists for New England came via Brian Glover, who had one and Andre Nybo, who had two. Kevin Belanger rejected 17 shots on goal for Cape Cod. Cape Cod incurred 30 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Dane Pauls recorded 12 saves for New England. New England incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
