Nichols School wins tough contest against Ridley College, 4-2H.C. Griffith Complex - Ridley Mon, Feb 23, 2015 The Nichols School Vikings and the Ridley College Tigers were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Nichols School made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2. Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Will Yerkovich's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker. The Vikings were paced by Yerkovich, who racked up one goal. Yerkovich scored 10:16 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Nichols School. Matt Gasuik picked up the assist. Nichols School found itself short handed often, totaling 16 penalty minutes and allowing two power plays. Nichols School additionally got points from Dylan Seitz, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Nichols School included Erik Urbank and Carson Gicewicz, who scored one goal each. In addition, Nichols School received assists from Griffin Lunn, Anthony Scanzuso, Nick Passafiume, and Sam Jones, who each chipped in one. Ridley College could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game. The Tigers were led by Connor Hill, who had one goal and one assist. Hill scored 1:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Ridley College. Mat Skripchenko also scored for Ridley College. More assists for Ridley College came via Cole Cameron, who had one. Jerry Baerwitz made 21 saves for the Vikings on 23 shots. Nichols School registered one goal on two power play opportunities. Cam Gray recorded 17 saves for Ridley College.
