Nichols School holds on for 3-1 win against Ridley CollegeDann Memorial Wed, Feb 18, 2015 The Ridley College Tigers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Nichols School Vikings would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 3-1. Nichols School made the score 3-0 on a goal by Griffin Lunn at 8:40 in the third period, and Ridley College got as close as 3-1 when Jordan Dobson scored 10:36 into the third period. The Vikings' Jerry Baerwitz was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 32 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Baerwitz will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.11 entering the contest. Nichols School was led by Harrison Oates, who finished with one goal and one assist. Oates scored on the power play 11:09 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Nichols School. The Vikings had gained a power play chance when Cole Cameron was whistled for interference. Ross Cominsky provided the assist. Nichols School also got a goal from Erik Urbank as well. In addition, Nichols School received assists from Cody Fleckenstein and Sam Jones, who each chipped in one. The Tigers' offense rang up 33 shots on Nichols School's net. Other players who recorded assists for Ridley College were Mat Skripchenko and Patrick MacDonald, who contributed one each. The Vikings incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Ridley College's Evan DeBrouwer stopped 15 shots out of the 18 that he faced. The Tigers incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
