Lauren Allen recorded a shutout against the Michigan State University Spartans as the Grand Valley State University Lakers picked up a 2-0 win.

Grand Valley State University was sparked by Allison Lowe, who registered one goal. Lowe scored 10:10 into the third period to make the score 1-0 Grand Valley State University. Hannah Aittama picked up the assist.

The Lakers excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Michigan State University was unable to stop Grand Valley State University from sending pucks towards the net, and the Lakers eventually piled up 46 shots on goal.

Grand Valley State University also got a goal from Kendra Myers as well. In addition, Grand Valley State University received assists from Katie Danto, who had one.

The Spartans put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Grand Valley State University to score on any of its four power plays. Michigan State University's offense operated below its season average. The Spartans put an average of 3.3 pucks into the net per game. Michigan State University forced the Lakers goalie Allen to work between the pipes, taking 50 shots.

Allen rejected 50 shots on goal for Grand Valley State University. The Lakers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Maria Barlow made 44 saves for the Spartans on 45 shots. Michigan State University incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
