Exeter downs Mt.Brydges in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Exeter Hawks' Trevor Thornton scored 3:31 into overtime to beat the Mt.Brydges Bulldogs, 5-4 (OT).

The win by Exeter clinched the best of seven series at 4-0.

Thornton had a great game for the Hawks, netting two goals.

Mt.Brydges was unable to stop Exeter from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hawks eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Exeter additionally got points from Matt Clarke, who also registered one goal and one assist and Dylan Wilson-Foote, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Exeter also got a goal from Tyler Kettler as well. More assists for Exeter came via Max Naus, who had one and Chase Thornton, who had three.

The Bulldogs' offense rang up 32 shots on Exeter's net.

Mt.Brydges was led by Lucas Wilson, who finished with two goals. Wilson scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:07 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Bulldogs earned a power play opportunity when Wilson-Foote was put in the box for hooking. Brody Smith assisted on the tally. Wilson's next tally on the power play made the score 2-2 with 6:45 left in the first period. Mt.Brydges also got points from Carson Kennes, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Joey Doxtator (APM) also scored for Mt.Brydges. In addition, Mt.Brydges received assists from Tyler Lockwood, who had one.

James Morreau rejected 28 shots on goal for the Hawks. Exeter incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Paul Town made 34 saves for Mt.Brydges on 39 shots. The Bulldogs incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
