Lambeth falls to Dorchester in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The Dorchester Dolphins pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Lambeth Lancers on a clutch goal by Mike Worby.

The win gave Dorchester a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Although the Dolphins was up by as many as two goals in the third period, Lambeth kept the game interesting by staging a comeback that ultimately fell short. The Lancers pulled to within 4-3 on a goal by Keith Arnold at 11:54 in the third period.

Dorchester was paced by Worby, who racked up one goal. Worby scored 7:19 into overtime to make the score 5-4 Dorchester. Chris Carreiro provided the assist.

The Dolphins forced Lambeth goalie JP Trudell to work between the pipes, taking 46 shots.

Dorchester additionally got points from Tyler Blue, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Carreiro, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Collin Hartwick, who also registered one goal and one assist. Dorchester also got a goal from Liam Gillooly as well. Other players who recorded assists for Dorchester were Brendon O Shaughnessy, who had two and Jordan Fuller, Nathan Innes, and Ryan Tuffin, who contributed one each.

The Lancers' offense rang up 41 shots on Dorchester's net.

Lambeth was helped by Eric Rivard, who racked up one goal. Rivard scored on the power play 3:21 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Lancers had gained a power play chance when Fuller was whistled for slashing. Ryan Pennington picked up the assist. Others who scored for Lambeth included Andrew Fletcher and Mike Frizzell, who each put in one. In addition, Lambeth received assists from Nick North, who had two and Kale Corbeth, Jordan Rear, Hayden Trbizan, and Luke Jackson, who each chipped in one.

The Dolphins' Kent Taylor stopped 37 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Dorchester incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. JP Trudell made 41 saves for Lambeth on 46 shots. The Lancers incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
