The Amherstburg Admirals pulled out a 6-5 (OT) overtime victory over the Blenheim Blades on a clutch goal by James Brooks. The win gave Amherstburg a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Admirals came back from a five-goal deficit to capture the victory. Amherstburg trailed 5-0 after a power play goal by Blenheim's Matt Clark at 9:57 in the second period. The Admirals knotted things up at 5-5 on a goal by Blake Rutckyj at 15:43 in the third period. Amherstburg's offense rang up 39 shots on the Blades' net. The Admirals were led by Chad Copeland, who registered one goal and two assists. Copeland scored 9:35 into the third period to make the score 5-4 Blenheim. Dan Matoski assisted on the tally. Amherstburg additionally got points from Rutckyj, who also had one goal and one assist and Mark Gangnon, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Amherstburg also had goals scored by Mark Sobocan and Jordan Luciw, who each put in one. In addition, Amherstburg received assists from Steven Spada, who had two and Curtis Prymack, Kasey Basile, and Luke Gangnon, who each chipped in one. Blenheim forced Amherstburg goalie Gianfranco Donato to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots. Blenheim also got points from Zack Horvath, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Teddy McGeen, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Hunter Burk also scored for Blenheim. More assists for Blenheim came via Bryan Boersma, Dylan Muzzatti, Derek Muzzatti, and Corbin Hagerman, who contributed one each. Donato recorded 37 saves for the Admirals. Amherstburg incurred 34 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The Blades' Klinton Kenney stopped 33 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Blenheim incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
