Annett's hat trick boosts Alliston over Orillia, 5-0

A hat trick by Connor Annett was the highlight in Hornets' 5-0 win against the Orillia Terriers.

Annett's first goal came 16:16 into the first period. He then added goals at 12:58 into the second and at 19:04 into the second.

The win by the Alliston Hornets clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

Alliston was boosted by Tyler Brindle, who turned in a shutout with 25 saves. Brindle certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.19 entering the contest.

The Hornets put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Orillia to score on any of its seven power plays. Alliston's offense rang up 37 shots on the Terriers' net.

Alliston also got points from Joe Cochrane, who also had one goal and two assists. Jacob Tuck also scored for Alliston. In addition, Alliston received assists from Steve Griggs, who had three and Jamie Bennett, Brendan Spencer, and Ryan Lewis, who contributed one each.

Orillia stifled the Hornets' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Alliston incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. Gordie Weiss rejected 32 shots on goal for the Terriers. Orillia incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
