The Alliston Hornets' Connor Annett had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 4-0 win over the Orillia Terriers. Annett scored 12:27 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Alliston. Steve Griggs provided the assist. Annett dished an assist on Griggs' goal that made the score 3-0 Alliston at 2:11 into the third period. He added another helper on Jamie Bennett's goal that made the score 4-1 Alliston at 7:18 into the third period.The win gave Alliston a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Hornets' penalty kill excelled, as Alliston gave up zero goals despite allowing eight power plays. The Hornets stifled Orillia's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Terriers were unable to stop Alliston from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hornets eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. Alliston additionally got points from Bennett, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Griggs, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Nick Arcan, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Alliston came via Zack Byblow and Jacob Tuck, who contributed one each. Alliston's Tyler Brindle stopped 18 shots out of the 18 that he faced. The Hornets incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Gordie Weiss rejected 39 shots on goal for Orillia. The Terriers incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors.
