The game between the Walkerton Hawks and the Hanover Barons was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Walkerton emerged with a 5-4 win. Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Brendan Welsh secured the win for the Hawks with a goal in the third period. The win by Walkerton clinched the best of seven series at 4-1. The defensemen of the Hawks were also effective in Hanover's zone, and came away with two goals. Walkerton additionally got points from Brett Coulson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Walkerton also had goals scored by CJ Arthur, Carter Franks, and Lauchlin Elder, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Walkerton were Alex Perrault, who had one and Ryan Hamelin, Reid Simmons, and Austin Russell, who contributed two each. The Barons forced Walkerton goalie Erik Angeli to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Hanover was helped by Jarrett Kuntz, who had three goals. Colton Culbert also scored for Hanover. In addition, Hanover received assists from Tyson Soers, who had one, Denver Hill, who had two, and Brodie Lemay, who had three. The Hawks' Angeli stopped 36 shots out of the 40 that he faced. Walkerton incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Mike Ratchford (AP) rejected 24 shots on goal for the Barons. Hanover incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
