Wingham rolls over Kincardine, 4-0

The Wingham Ironmen were firing on all cylinders against the Kincardine Bulldogs, and when the final buzzer sounded Ironmen emerged with a 4-0 win.

After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Kincardine faces elimination next time out.

Wingham was led by Alex Kuntz, who registered one goal. Kuntz scored 1:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wingham. Ryan McNeil picked up the assist.

The Ironmen's offense rang up 34 shots on the Bulldogs' net. Wingham did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up only one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Wingham also got points from Justin Jacklin, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Wingham included Holdyn Lansink and Jeremy Ross, who scored one goal each. In addition, Wingham received assists from Darren Kerr, Brett Brophy, Keifer MacInnes, Josh Stewart, J J Harland, and Carter Stewart, who contributed one each.

Kincardine put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Ironmen to score on any of their five power plays.

Ben Nelson made 21 saves for Wingham on 21 shots. Mitch Campbell recorded 30 saves for the Bulldogs. Kincardine incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Bulldogs ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Dalton Hnatko was ejected from the game.
