Stanwick's big game bests Boston in 17-16 Ohio win

Steele Stanwick had four goals and four assists to lead the Ohio Machine to a 17-16 victory over the Boston Cannons.

Stanwick got on the scoresheet 9:19 into the 1st quarter. Then added goal at 9:21 into the 3rd, at 3:29 into the 4th and at 13:34 into the 4th.

The 56 shots that Ohio put on net surpassed Ohio's average of 43.6 shots per game this season. The Machine's goal total was higher than their season average. Ohio has scored at the pace of 13.9 goals per game during the current campaign.

Ohio additionally got points from Marcus Holman, who also registered three goals and two assists, Jimmy Bitter, who also registered three goals and one assist and Peter Baum, who also registered two goals and two assists. Ohio also had goals scored by Tom Schreiber, who had four and Jake Bernhardt, who had one. Other players who recorded assists for Ohio were Kyle Harrison, who had one.

By firing 50 shots on goal, Boston exceeded the 41.5 shots it averages per game this year. The Cannons outdid their season average for goals scored. This season, Boston averages 13.1 goals per contest.

The Cannons were led by John Glesener, who racked up five goals and one assist. Boston also got points from Will Manny, who also registered one goal and two assists. David Emala also scored for Boston. In addition, Boston received assists from Brent Adams and Ryan Tucker, who contributed one apiece.

Brian Phipps rejected 15 shots on goal for the Machine. Adam Ghitelman made 19 saves for Boston on 36 shots. The Cannons won 21 faceoffs to 14 for Ohio. Joe Nardella won 21 for the Cannons.
