A hat trick by Kevin Rice was the highlight in Rattlers' 14-13 win against the Chesapeake Bayhawks. Rice's first goal came 7:10 into the 1st quarter. Then added goal at 10:41 into the 1st and at 13:12 into the 4th. The teams traded the lead seven times. Chesapeake took its last lead at 6:29 in the 3rd on a goal by Ben Rubeor to make the score 9-8 Chesapeake. Rochester put 40 shots on net during the contest, more than the 33.9 it averages per game. Rochester additionally got points from Dave Lawson, who also registered four goals and one assist to lead the team in points and Jordan Wolf, who also registered one goal and two assists. Rochester also had goals scored by Mark Matthews, who had three, Randy Staats, who had two and Mike Poppleton, who had one. Other players who recorded assists for Rochester were John Ranagan, who had three and Jordan MacIntosh, who had one. By firing 42 shots on goal, the Bayhawks exceeded the 28.8 shots they average per game this year. Chesapeake was led by Matt Danowski, who tallied four goals and three assists. Chesapeake also got points from Matt Abbott, who also registered one goal and one assist and Rubeor, who also registered two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Chesapeake included Joe Walters, who had four and Jesse Bernhardt and Patrick Harbeson, who scored one goal each. In addition, Chesapeake received assists from Kevin Crowley, who had two and Drew Westervelt, who had one. John Galloway recorded 17 saves for the Rattlers. Tyler Fiorito made 16 saves for the Bayhawks on 30 shots. Rochester won 19 faceoffs to 12 for Chesapeake. Poppleton won 19 for Rochester.
