New York erases deficit to stun Chesapeake, 15-13Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Thu, Jul 02, 2015 Story by Narrative Science.
The Chesapeake Bayhawks could not hold down the New York Lizards, and Lizards erased a five-goal deficit en route to a 15-13 win. New York never led in the game until netting the game winner. The Lizards trailed 10-5 after a goal by Chesapeake's Joe Walters at 5:14 in the 2nd quarter. New York tied things up at 13-13 on a goal by Jo-Jo Marasco at 13:02 in the 4th quarter. The Lizards got the game winner at 14:55 in the 4th quarter on a goal by Marasco. New York got the win thanks to a great game by Paul Rabil, who had four goals and one assist. By firing 49 shots on goal, the Lizards exceeded the 44.5 shots they average per game this year. New York additionally got points from Rob Pannell, who also registered two goals and three assists, Ned Crotty, who also registered one goal and one assist and Tommy Palasek, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for New York included Steve DeNapoli, who had two and Kevin Unterstein and Matt Gibson, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for New York were Mike Stone, who had one. With 49 shots on target during the contest, the Bayhawks exceeded the 29.5 shots they average per game this year. Chesapeake was helped by Ben Rubeor, who grabbed three goals and two assists. Chesapeake also got points from Walters, who also registered three goals and four assists to lead the team in points, Kevin Crowley, who also registered two goals and one assist and Matt Danowski, who also registered two goals and three assists. Matt Abbott also scored for Chesapeake. More assists for Chesapeake came via Mark McNeil, who had one. Drew Adams made 20 saves for New York on 33 shots. Tyler Fiorito rejected 13 shots on goal for the Bayhawks. The Lizards won 24 faceoffs to six for Chesapeake. Greg Gurenlian won 24 for the Lizards.
