Buchanan lifts Boston over Chesapeake, 14-11

Kevin Buchanan had five goals to lead the Boston Cannons to a 14-11 victory over the Chesapeake Bayhawks. Buchanan got on the scoresheet 100 into the first quarter. Then added goal at 318 into the second, at 366 into the third, at 183 into the fourth, and at 275 into the fourth.

By firing 58 shots on goal, Boston exceeded the 43.40 shots it averages per game this year the Cannons's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Boston additionally got points from Scott Ratliff, who also registered two goals and one assist, Martin Bowes, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Max Seibald, who also registered one goal and one assist. David Emala also scored for Boston. Other players who recorded assists for Boston were Josh Hawkins, who had two Will Manny,, Brent Adams,, Ryan Tucker, and, and Wells Stanwick, who each chipped in one.

The Bayhawks were led by Drew Westervelt, who registered three goals and two assists. Chesapeake also got points from Joe Walters, who also registered two goals and two assists, Ben Rubeor, who also registered two goals and one assist, Kevin Crowley, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Matt Danowski, who also registered one goal and two assists. Chesapeake also got a goal from Matt Abbott as well.

Jordan Burke took the win and made 18 saves before being replaced by Adam Ghitelman who made one save. Tyler Fiorito made 23 saves for Chesapeake on 36 shots. The Cannons won 19 faceoffs to eight for the Bayhawks. Craig Bunker won 19 for the Cannons.
