Denver downs Rochester in overtime, 22-21 (OT)

Matt Bocklet's goal in overtime proved to be the game winner, and the Denver Outlaws beat the Rochester Rattlers, 22-21 (OT).

John Grant had seven goals and one assist to lead Denver. He scored the first of his goals at 1:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0. he also scored at 13:37 into the first period to make the score 3-3, at 1:50 into the second period to make the score 5-3, at 6:46 into the second period to make the score 7-3, at 4:07 into the third period to make the score 13-7 and at 4:16 into overtime to make the score 17-11.

The 43 shots that the Outlaws put on net surpassed the Outlaws' average of 33.8 shots per game this season. Denver outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Outlaws average 14.3 goals per contest.

Denver also got points from Michael Bocklet, who also registered three goals and three assists, Jeremy Sieverts, who also registered six goals and one assist and Jeremy Noble, who also registered one goal and two assists. Others who scored for Denver included Justin Pennington, who had two and Chris Bocklet, who had one. In addition, Denver received assists from Geoff Snider, who had one.

By firing 41 shots on goal, Rochester exceeded the 35.9 shots it averages per game this year. The Rattlers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Rochester found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Rattlers have scored at the pace of 12.8 goals per game during the current campaign.

Rochester was led by Dave Lawson, who grabbed four goals and one assist. Rochester additionally got points from Joel White, who also registered one goal and one assist, John Ranagan, who also registered two goals and one assist and Jordan Wolf, who also registered one goal and two assists. Rochester also had goals scored by Jordan MacIntosh, who had three, Justin Turri and Randy Staats, who each put in two and John LoCascio and Kyle Denhoff, who scored one goal each. More assists for Rochester came via Kevin Rice, who had one.

Jesse Schwartzman made 12 saves for the Outlaws on 29 shots. John Galloway rejected nine shots on goal for the Rattlers. Rochester won 29 faceoffs to 12 for Denver. John Ortolani won 24 for Rochester.
