Buchanan nets hat trick, leads Boston to 13-9 win over Florida

Kevin Buchanan netted a hat trick to lead the Boston Cannons over the Florida Launch, 13-9. Buchanan notched his first tally 9:57 into the 1st quarter. Then added goal at 13:39 into the 3rd and at 1:40 into the 4th.

With 55 shots on target during the contest, Boston exceeded the 41 shots it averages per game this year.

Boston also got points from David Emala, who also registered three goals and one assist and Will Manny, who also registered two goals and one assist. Others who scored for Boston included Josh Amidon, who had two and Brent Adams and Erik Smith, who scored one goal each. In addition, Boston received assists from Max Seibald, who had three.

Florida put 42 shots on net during the contest, more than the 34.6 it averages per game. The Launch's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Florida was led by Kieran McArdle, who grabbed four goals. Florida additionally got points from Lyle Thompson, who also registered one goal and one assist. Florida also had goals scored by McArdle, who had four and Casey Ikeda, Bobby Lawrence and Steven Brooks, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Florida were Connor Buczek and Casey Powell, who contributed one apiece.

Adam Ghitelman rejected 14 shots on goal for Boston. Brett Queener made 24 saves for the Launch on 36 shots. The Cannons won 13 faceoffs to 11 for Florida. Craig Bunker won 13 for the Cannons.
