Manny leads Boston over Charlotte, 19-13

Behind a great game by Will Manny, who had five goals and one assist, the Boston Cannons defeated the Charlotte Hounds, 19-13.

Manny got on the scoresheet 8:37 into the 2nd quarter. Then added goal at 12:17 into the 2nd, at 1:26 into the 3rd, at 6:41 into the 3rd and at 13:26 into the 3rd.

Boston forced Charlotte's netminders to work in net, getting 40 shots and forcing 10 saves. Jack Runkel made eight stops and Pierce Bassett made two. The Cannons bested their season scoring average. Boston averages 13.3 goals per game.

Boston also got points from Scott Ratliff, who also registered one goal and one assist and Max Seibald, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Boston included Kevin Buchanan, who had four, David Emala, who had three, Brent Adams, who had two and Rob Emery, who had one. Other players who recorded assists for Boston were Ryan Young, who had one.

The Hounds' offense was clicking better than usual and put 61 shots on goal during the game, better than the 36.3 shots per game they average.

Charlotte was led by Joey Sankey, who tallied five goals and three assists. Charlotte additionally got points from Mike Sawyer, who also registered two goals and one assist, Terry Kimener, who also registered one goal and one assist and Kevin Cunningham, who also registered two goals and one assist. Josh Hawkins also scored for Charlotte.

Jordan Burke rejected 29 shots on goal for the Cannons. The Hounds won 19 faceoffs to 14 for Boston. Brendan Fowler won 19 for the Hounds.
