Behind a great game by Rob Pannell, who had four goals and two assists, the New York Lizards defeated the Chesapeake Bayhawks, 15-14. Pannell notched his first tally 2:27 into the 3rd quarter. Then added goal at 6:53 into the 3rd, at 2:32 into the 4th and at 7:40 into the 4th. New York kept Chesapeake's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tyler Fiorito made 16 saves on 31 shots. New York also got points from Jo-Jo Marasco, who also registered one goal and one assist, Mike Stone, who also registered three goals and one assist and Paul Rabil, who also registered one goal and one assist. New York also had goals scored by Matt Gibson, who had three and Matt Poskay, Chris Piccirilli and Tommy Palasek, who each put in one. In addition, New York received assists from Kevin Unterstein, who had two. By firing 45 shots on goal, the Bayhawks exceeded the 36.8 shots they average per game this year. Chesapeake was led by Ben Hunt, who finished with four goals. Chesapeake additionally got points from Matt Abbott, who also registered one goal and one assist and Matt Mackrides, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Chesapeake included Hunt, who had four, Jack Rice, who had three, Ben Rubeor, who had two and Jeff Reynolds and Jason Noble, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Chesapeake were Matt Danowski, who had four and Peet Poillon, who had one. Drew Adams rejected 14 shots on goal for the Lizards. New York won 28 faceoffs to four for the Bayhawks. Greg Gurenlian won 28 for New York.
